LEMONGRASS AND GINGER SOUR ALE

Fresh, aromatic and undeniably unique.

In late 2019, Jack Cameron (PL Co-founder) and Lewis Maschmedt (Head Quality Brewer) shared a pot of herbal tea.

It's sensory profile inspired them to create the Lemongrass and Ginger Sour - a beer that is crisp on the palate, big on the aroma, and unlike it's steamy counterpart, infinitely crushable. The latest batch has been canned for your drinking pleasure; so let's get ya'll introduced!

This beer obtains it's tartness from the micro-organism Lactobacillus. Sound a little strange? Don't stress, it's responsible for characterising a host of traditional styles and can be found in everyday products such as yogurt.

A light grain bill of Pale Malt and Wheat lets the recipe's unique ingredients shine through. Good news, given forty kilograms of lemongrass and ginger powder has been pumped into the whirlpool.

Hops on the other hand, are used sparingly. A literal handful of Enigma finds it's way into the kettle. This way, we can call it a beer.

For those pouring into glassware, expect some haze, a delicate head and a honey / lemon hue. Freshly cut ginger and lemongrass form the nose, with lifted notes of Thai Mint. On the palate, it is crisp and refreshing - with bright carbonation, tight acidity and a spicy ginger hit.

Match it with fragrant cuisines, session it long into the afternoon or simply rip a tin for knock-offs - one of this beer's charming qualities is it's versatility.
