Weekend Warriors

By Pirate Life 08 Nov 2016

Last weekend was absolutely maaaaaaaaaasive for the Pirate Life crew with a heap of events around the country. The sun came out all across Australia, sounding the siren for the beginning of festival season. And wherever good people were enjoying the sunshine we were there making sure they were also enjoying good beer.

Canberra’s Beer Day Out confirmed what we already know: the nation’s capital has a thirst for craft beer. Cheers to all the people who came to say gday and have a beer with us and a big thank you to the Canberra Beer Week crew for hosting us. The event was a massive success and we look forward to getting back to Canberra again soon.

Just up the road in Newcastle a couple of the boys were ripping the lid off it in a big way joining the crowds at the This That Festival. With Throwback pouring at the Pirate Life Bar and cans available all over the venue, music fans were stoked to be able to tip back good beer while enjoying some tunes. Drapht and Hermitude absolutely killed it in front of a turnt crowd of 15,000 who had a heap of energy after a long winter in hibernation. The next day we backed it up at Live at the Foreshore where a more seasoned crowd of punters were vibing out to some old-school tunes and sinking plenty of froths. A big thanks to Blac List for getting us involved and cheers to the fine folk of Newcastle for turning it on for the weekend.

Speaking of turning it on that’s exactly what the weather did in Perth over the weekend where we were joining the good times at the Bar Pop Beer Festival. While the temp hit 37 and the Aussies struggled to make a game of it at the WACA, Perth beer fans got out in numbers to enjoy the sunshine and a few beers. All three days were cranking and there was plenty of love for the beer. A big shout out to the crew at Bar Pop for getting us in the mix and cheers for an epic weekend. Also a shout out to Sunny - the most chilled Uber driver in Australia who loaded his Corolla up with 45 cases of beer which stocked our bar for the weekend.

The Urban Orchard Backyard will host us for a second consecutive weekend with the Pirate Life Invasion set to hit Perth this Saturday. We will also be slanging ale in McLaren Vale when Carl Cox and De La Soul perform at S.C.Pannell this Sunday.

Also we are once again making our way across the Tasman this weekend for the Dunedin Craft Beer & Food Festival. The festival is absolutely huge with a bunch of amazing beer and food stalls from NZ and around the world so for any Kiwi fans out there that's where you can find us this weekend!

More details on the way as the week goes on so keep your eyes peeled.

Cheers to all the people involved over the weekend and cheers to the punters who came out to support Aussie beer and music.

Peace,

PLB Crew
