Let’s face it Australia Day is the best party day of the year. Whether you spend it down the beach getting salty and sunburnt or in the backyard with your feet in a wading pool, one thing is for sure: you are gonna be necking a few tins. A few years back the choices one had to fly the Aussie flag in a beer sense were pretty limited, today we are a little more fortunate. It is a testament to how far Aussie beer has come in a short time that we are now able to hold a poll for the Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers.
The annual vote was launched by The Local Taphouse eight years ago and has in recent years been supported by GABS, The Crafty Pint and Australian Brews News, with the number of votes doubling each year.
To take part, all you need to do is select your top five beers from 2015 on the GABS website. The results will be announced online and at events across the country on Australia Day. This year will be our first year in the running and we are confident of putting up a good show. So if you have enjoyed our beers jump online, give us the nod and help us take top spot!
The Pirate Life crew will be celebrating Australia Day down at the Gilbert St Hotel here in Adelaide with a bunch of good Aussie beer, listening to the Triple J Hottest 100 and celebrating the fact we brew beer in the best country in the world. It will be a cracker of a day so if you can make it we would love to see you there.
