Miso icky sticky stout brownies

By Pirate Life 02 Aug 2021

It's no secret we love beer and food here at Pirate Life, so when the team from 'Low and Slow Basics' came up with this elite recipe, we couldn't help but share it with y'all...

Not only are these Miso Icky Sticky Brownies uber-indulgent, they pair perfectly with the stout itself, so dust off the smoker and break out the mixing bowls, 'cause you're in for a treat!

Miso Icky Sticky Stout Brownies

Ingredients:

1 ¼  Cup Flour

⅔ Cup Cocoa Powder

1 ½ Cup Sugar

2 Eggs

350ml Pirate Life Miso Icky Sticky Stout

125g Butter (melted)

1 tsp Vanilla extract

pinch of salt

Optional (½ Cup of Milk or White Chocolate Chips)

Icing:

½ Cup Milk Chocolate Chips

½ Cup Icing Sugar

20ml of the Icky Sticky Stout

100g Cream Cheese (room temperature)

Method

1: Preheat the oven/smoker to 180C/350F. If using a smoker, we recommend using softwoods like peach, nectarine, apple or cherry.

2: Line a baking pan with some butter or spray oil.

3: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, salt and sugar.

4: Add in the eggs to the mixture and mix well.

5: Using a saucepan on low heat, add in the stout and butter. Stir until butter is melted, remove from the heat.

6: Add in the stout mixture and vanilla to the mixing bowl. Combine well. (Add in the optional ½ Cup of Chocolate Chips at this stage)

7: Pour the mixture into the baking pan and put into the oven/smoker for 30 minutes.

8: Remove and cool once cooked.

For the icing,

9: Melt chocolate chips in the microwave.

10: Add into a mixing bowl with icing sugar, stout and cream cheese, mix well.

11: Apply generously over cooled brownies.

Now crack open a fresh can of Miso Icky Sticky Stout (or any stout for that matter) and dig in...you glorious humans!
